Are goods insured whilst in your care?
Yes goods are fully insured both in transit if collection & delivery was required & also in the workshop.
I’ve heard that restoration can devalue items, is this true?
Proper high quality restoration will not only preserve a piece of furniture for future generations but also increase its value.
Poor quality restoration often destroys not only the integrity of an antique piece but also destroys its value.
Do you restore modern items?
As a general rule I only restore period Antique furniture but if something was off particular importance & quality please send images & I shall have a look & advise.
Do you do modern spray finishing?
No. All my finishing is done using traditional hand French polishing techniques using only the finest shellac polishes & wax polishes as used for centuries.
