This pair of William IV rosewood card tables came into the workshop for full restoration.

There was extensive damage to the veneers which were lifting so required gluing & patching. Due to previous bad restoration the tops required bleaching as the lovely mellow colour much loved in rosewood had been sanded right though resulting in deep black areas. When the patches were all leveled the surfaces were stripped then the tables traditionally hand French polished with special pale polish then when built up with a full grain left to harden for a week was then dulled & wax polished resulting in a nice mellow finish.
