A fine Chippendale period mahogany drop leaf supper table. This fine table is constructed from finely figured & dense Cuban mahogany. The mahogany lined drawer is fitted with divisions & a sliding dressing mirror. The axe head handles can be found on various items of Chippendale made furniture. The crossed flat & fretted stretchers were used to place the tray after eating awaiting removal my the butler. The square chamfered legs resting on brass squat castors. I have been established as a dealer and antique furniture restorer for almost 20 years. I have a real love and passion of fine 18th and early 19th century furniture. As a professional restorer I am always searching for the finest quality and original items but should any restoration be nessesary it will be sympathetically and skilfully carried out in house by myself.
