This wonderfull mid 18th Century `Irish mahogany tallboy chest is of wonderful neat proportions. Lovely colour & condition & retaining all original locks & brass escutcheon handles. Made from the most wonderfull quality heavy dense figured mahogany & supported on shaped bracket feet. With 8 graduated oak lined drawers. The rear back boards also in oak which is a nice sign of quality. Various similar examples of this model of the Irish tallboy can be seen in the Book of Irish furniture by the Knight Of Glin & James Peill. Circa 1760 Dimensions listed are to top of cornice edges.
